Privacy

The cards you create and the cards you scan are stored on your phone, in the app's own storage. Scanned contacts are not synced by Vizity.

There is no sign-up, no email address to hand over, and no identifier that follows you between devices.

On iPhone, you can choose to sync your cards through your private iCloud key-value store. This is off until you enable it in Vizity settings. Turning it off and removing the iCloud copy leaves the cards on your current device.

On Android, cards and app preferences can be included in Android's system backup and device transfer when backup is enabled in your device settings. Vizity does not receive, operate or have access to either platform's private cloud copy.

When you share a card, the details on it — name, title, company, and whichever phone, email, website, location and links you filled in — are encoded into the link itself and into the QR code that represents it.

This is what makes Vizity work without a server, and it has a consequence worth understanding: anyone who has the link can read the card. Treat a card link the way you would treat a paper business card you handed over. A link cannot be recalled once it is out, so share the card that suits the situation.

If you choose a cover photo, Vizity reduces it on your phone to a compact color impression called a BlurHash. Only that short value travels in the card link; the original photo is not saved by Vizity or uploaded anywhere.

A card can point at a file you host yourself — a CV, a portfolio, a price list. Vizity stores nothing: the card carries the link, exactly as it carries your website or your social profiles.

Where that file lives is between you and whoever hosts it. Opening it from a card is an ordinary link click, so the usual applies — that host sees the request, not us.

The site is static files. There are no analytics scripts, no advertising trackers and no cookies. The card page reads the link in your address bar and renders it in your browser — opening a card does not tell anyone, including us, that you opened it.

The web server keeps ordinary access logs, as any web server does. The ?p= / ?p2= part of a card URL is a query string, so treat card links as you would any other URL you paste around.

The camera is used only while the QR scanner is open, to read codes. Nothing is recorded or uploaded. Saving a scanned card to your address book happens through the system contact sheet, so you confirm it yourself.
